As it turns out, Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has conveyed to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) that Kohli's men are unwilling to play the day-night Test in Adelaide.

India will begin their Australia tour with a three-match T20 series from November 21 to 25, and then play four Tests in Adelaide (December 6-10), Perth (December 14-18), Melbourne (December 26-30) and Sydney (January 3-7).

However, a report from India last week indicated they may play one of two home Tests against West Windies in October under lights. However, this time around Australia will be in for a stern challenge to hold on to their supremacy as they are a much weaker side in absence of Steve Smith and David Warner in their ranks owing to the infamous ball-tampering saga.

Among other matches, Australia will be playing a D-N Test versus Sri Lanka in Brisbane from January 24 to 28, while the Manuka Oval in Canberra - also a first-time Test venue - stages the second from February 1 to 5.

Canberra's Manuka Oval will host its maiden Test when Australia round out their home summer of cricket in game two against Sri Lanka from February 1.

The women will get things underway, with the first cricket broadcast on both the Seven Network and Foxtel to show Australia taking on New Zealand in a Twenty20 match to be played straight after the AFL Grand Final on September 29. The clash between India and Australia will end on December 6.

Talking about the structural changes in the global season in Australia this time around, Sutherland added: "Our men's worldwide season structure changes slightly this summer, with one-day and T20 worldwide matches against South Africa and India in November". A year ago they got the better of England in the inaugural day-night Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval.

The newly built Perth Stadium will make its debut as a Test venue when it hosts the second Test.

Worldwide cricket will run from September to February this summer in a significantly revamped schedule that will include visits from South Africa, India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

CA has yet to confirm the dates of the domestic season, but it is likely to include an expanded Big Bash League season of 43 games.
