Journalist, Children Shot Dead by Israel: Who Is The Terrorist Now?

09 April 2018, 12:35 | Damon Campbell

The Israeli decision comes one day after Palestinian protesters set fire to hundreds of vehicle tires on Friday near the fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel during the mass protests along the border, reports Xinhua.

Around 16 Palestinians were killed and hundred others injured during the clashes with Israeli occupation forces near the eastern borders between the Gaza Strip and Israel.

"I know the situation is very, very hard", Israeli farmer Daniel Rahamim said about economic hardship in Gaza, the Palestinian enclave ruled by Hamas, an Islamist group that advocates Israel's destruction.

There have been no reported Israeli casualties.

The Israeli military said that "three suspects crossed into Israel in the northern Gaza border area and returned to Gaza".

Despite these efforts, more than 1,300 Palestinians were injured - around 30 of them critically - by Israeli forces in Gaza on Friday.

Israel's army said it "does not intentionally target journalists". He added that 1,354 people were wounded, including 491 by ammunition and explosives.

A Palestinian man has succumbed to wounds he sustained due to Israeli gunfire in the occupied West Bank last week, according to his brother.

Thousands of Palestinians continued "The Great March of Return", the week-long protest on Friday, demanding the right of return of Palestinian refugees to towns and villages from which their families were driven out when Israel was created. IDF snipers killed 18 Arabs who were spotted trying to breach the fence and infiltrate Israel.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society has "also warned of a shortage of medical supplies and of personal protective equipment for their 400-person team deployed across Gaza".

On Saturday, the European Union questioned Israel's "use of force" against the Gazans, calling for "restraint" in the besieged enclave.

Mr Regev and those he represents perhaps need to understand that it is possible to recognise and defend the state of Israel as a legal entity, with all that this entails in terms of its sovereignty and integrity, without remaining silent about its abuses of human rights and of worldwide law.

And the total deaths have risen to at least 31 killed by Israeli fire since last week, according to Palestinian sources.

Mourners and journalists carry the body of Palestinian journalist Yasser Murtaja, during his funeral in Gaza City on April 7, 2018.
