Retired NBA legend Kobe Bryant won an Oscar at the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 4.

Many on Twitter felt that awarding Bryant an Oscar was yet another example of Hollywood hypocrisy, proving their #MeToo movement was just lip service in light of the bombshell Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse scandal.

Kobe Bryant, a five-time NBA champion, MVP victor and NBA Finals MVP victor, took home an Oscar on Sunday night for the creation of an animated short called "Dear Basketball".

The movie emerged victor of the Academy Award for best animated short, and was a collaboration with between the legendary John Williams and Glen Keane. Bryant collected his Oscar statue along with the film's director Glen Keane.

Bryant's comments appeared to be a direct criticism of Ingraham's suggestion basketball players should just "shut up and dribble" and steer well clear of politics.

Bryant's Oscar joins a silverware collection that includes aMost Valuable Player Award, two N.B.A. Finals M.V.P.s, and five N.B.A. titles.
