Broussia Dortmund’s Michy Batshuayi said that he was racially abused by Atalanta fans

Borussia Dortmund striker Michy Batshuayi has claimed to be a victim of racial abuse during their Europa League pre-quarterfinal second leg against Atalanta here. Batshuayi took to Twitter and slammed those participating in the chants from the stands saying that he couldn't believe these things still happen in 2018. If they did happen, then I am very sad and absolutely apologise to Batshuayi.

Dortmund progress to the last 16, and will learn their opponents later today.

The Bundesliga giants are one of the favourites to go all the way in the Europa League after finding themselves in the competition following their exit from the Champions League.

Batshuayi has scored five goals in as many games for BVB since arriving on loan from the Blues on transfer deadline day.

Atalanta received a one-game stand closure last month that was suspended for one year after Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly was subjected to racist chants during a Serie A clash.

When the music stopped playing in January, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang found himself at Arsenal, Olivier Giroud was at Chelsea while Michy Batshuayi ended up at Dortmund.
