Karnataka Congress MLA NA Haris' son Mohammed Haris Nalapad surrendered at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru on Monday, almost two days after an FIR was filed against him and ten others for allegedly assaulting a man in UB City.
The party bosses began the damage-control exercise by expelling Mohammed Nalpad from the party for six years.
Congress MLA NA Harris has been expelled from the party after he assaulted a man in Bengaluru pub.
Cubbon Park police filed an FIR at 3:30 am on Sunday despite the complaint against Nalapad having been registered at 10:30 pm on Saturday. Nalapad and his friends got into an argument with Vidwath when they asked him to sit properly. The victim was then rushed to the nearby Mallya Hospital for treatment, but the group reportedly followed him there and threatened him.

"It is unfortunate that the incident has taken place". Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy ordered the police to nab Nalapad and his friends by Sunday evening. "One can not cover up something wrong so I have asked my son to surrender", NA Harris told TNM.
At the time of his surrender, there was a minor tussle between protesting BJP, JD (S) cadres and Congress supporters.
I am appalled at & strongly condemn the ghastly attack by MLA N.A. Harris's son on innocent Vidwat. The state government had come under huge pressure after BJP and opposition parties strongly condemned the incident and also launched a series of protests in the city mainly at Cubbon Park police station since Sunday. Now his father, NA Haris has come out in defence of his son and has said that leniency should be shown to his son on grounds of his immaturity. The police will arrest him.
