Brawl on cruise ship Watch passengers let fists fly

The Legend has anchored off Eden and eight police officers are on the ship processing people.

David Barkho says his son phoned and begged him to call authorities after he suffered a head injury while on the ship.

"He rang me about 1am this morning and said, "please dad, please dad, call the federal police", Mr Barkho told the radio station.

Video footage of the scuffle, shared on social media, shows dozens of people fighting each other, security guards and other staff before the person filming the incident is confronted by staff.

A third video shows the men being escorted from the cruise ship on a New South Wales Police boat.

"We disembarked an extended family of 26 people, we felt we had to take immediate action to remove an element that caused a disturbance on board the ship", he said.

The ship which is operated by Carnival Cruise Line has taken action by removing them from what is now being called "the cruise from hell" from other passengers.

One woman yelled that she had been mistreated as she was being removed after what fellow passengers complained had been days of mayhem and violence.

Passenger Kellie Petersen, who was on the cruise with her husband and their three children, aged 11, 9 and 6, said trouble on board had been "brewing for days".

One passenger told Nine News: "We are so scared after witnessing a traumatic experience with yet again the same offenders".

A brutal melee has played out in the foyer of the Carnival Legend cruise ship off the NSW coast. The captain refused to take them any further.

"The ship's security team is applying our zero-tolerance policy in the interests of the safety and comfort of other guests", the company said.

Passengers on a 10-day cruise to the South Pacific have described it as a "cruise from hell" after alleging ongoing violence between two groups.

It is not the first time Australian passengers have complained of violence on board cruise ships.

"Excessive behavior of all kinds is something that we do not tolerate, regardless of guests or crew members, but until we have conducted the investigation, it's too early for us to comment", Carnival Australia President Sture Myrmell told reporters in Sydney, reported the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
