SHAME Charity chief executive Mark Goldring said Oxfam is'ashamed of what happened
A spokeswoman for the Charities Commission said: "In August 2011, Oxfam made a report to the Commission about an ongoing internal investigation into allegations of misconduct by staff members involved in their Haiti programme".
The charity's chief executive Paul Goldring will meet Penny Mordaunt, the global development secretary, on Monday after she threatened to withdraw millions of pounds of government funding.
Responding to reports that staff who left Oxfam in Haiti later joined other aid agencies, without their knowledge of the incidents, Christian Aid: "We are committed to living out our values of respect and dignity for all, and we will investigate any claims about any individuals involved in the Haiti incident to ascertain the facts, should they relate to Christian Aid and should we receive further information".
She told BBC Radio 5 Live's Pienaar's Politics she was not aware of allegations within Oxfam, but had raised the issue of abuse involving aid workers in disaster zones with the Department for International Development (DfID) while heading the department.
"With regard to Oxfam and any other organisation that has safeguarding issues, we expect them to cooperate fully with such authorities, and we will cease to fund any organisation that does not", Mordaunt said in a statement.
The UK-based charity is also facing fresh accusations that its workers used prostitutes in Chad in 2006, the Observer reported.
The Charity Commission said on Saturday that it had written to Oxfam "as a matter of urgency" to request further information.
The worldwide development secretary is meeting the charity on Monday and warns it can not remain a "partner" if it fails to account for its actions, reported BBC.
