We will not bury her until we get justice.

Two people died in clashes with security forces.

The 7-year-old girl was staying with her aunt while her parents were in Saudi Arabia to perform the umrah pilgrimage.

In a different kind of protest, Kiran Naz, a TV anchor, brought her daughter to a news programme and blamed the government's inefficiency, calling the incident a murder of humanity.

The protesters pelted stones at the police station, offices of district police officer and district coordination officer in Kasur as the city observed a complete shut down.

A CCTV footage circulated on social media showed an unidentified man holding Zainab and walking away with her. Zainab's body was later found in a pile of garbage.

An air of gloom, mixed with rage, hovers over Kasur, a small town situated around an hour's drive from Lahore in Pakistan, following the brutal discovery of the rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab.

"I have appealed to the army chief and the chief justice of Pakistan to give me justice as I have no faith in the Punjab government and police", he said. Police believe she was raped and strangled to death, the latest victim in a spate of kidnappings and murders of young girls in the city.

Zainab Amin's killing has angered local people who say the authorities in Punjab province have done too little to keep their children safe after a series of similar killings.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured Zainab's family that an investigation has been opened and that the culprit [s] will soon be caught, Ansari said. This is not the first time such horrific acts have happened.
