Lemar is regarded as one of the most exciting young midfielders to have emerged out of France in recent years, thanks largely due to his exploits for Monaco last season.

That development will be welcomed by Arsenal if Arsene Wenger does decide to push forward with a move for Lemar.

The Reds and Gunners have always been linked with Lemar after his stunning form last term piqued their interest, and both are plotting moves for the France global as replacements for Philippe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez respectively.

Monaco sounds resigned to selling Thomas Lemar, according to their Coach's latest statements.

Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has admitted he could lose Thomas Lemar during the January transfer window amid links to Liverpool and Arsenal.

Mohamed Salah is the second Egyptian player to win this award after Mahmoud El-Khatib, who won the title in 1983. Salah helped Egypt reach the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations final in 2017.

Lemar was the subject of huge interest during the summer transfer window and Premier League outfit Arsenal were believed to have offered around £90million to acquire his services.

But with the scoring form of Liverpool's trio, especially Salah who has 17 goals so far at 0.96 per 90, Lemar to Liverpool could be a deal worth doing.

Arsene Wenger remains keen on signing the French worldwide but the newspaper says Arsenal will now face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea after the Blues also joined the race for Lemar's signature.

The Frenchman will be even more furious if he is beaten to the punch by Liverpool this month, however, as Jurgen Klopp earmarks Lemar as the man to take Coutinho's place in his pacy attacking Reds side. "The expectation still remains that Lemar will remain in Monaco beyond this month's deadline".

"We don't usually sell in winter, but the transfer window is open until the end of the month, and you have to prepare yourself for anything and everything", he said.
