It has not been a secret as everyone knew Jon Gruden was going to be back with the Silver and Black next season.
It's been widely reported that Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the organization will sign Gruden to a 10-year contract, the longest in National Football League history, that will be worth approximately $100 million dollars when it is made official.
Gruden has worked as a "Monday Night Football" analyst since 2009 and also gained popularity through his "QB Camp" series on ESPN, interviewing quarterback prospects. His Buccaneers beat the Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII.
The Raiders fired Jack Del Rio as their coach last Sunday, just after completing a 6-10 season.
The announcement comes almost 20 years to the day when Gruden was first introduced as the Raiders' coach. "The only question is when it happens". For one, the rumors can be finally put to bed.
Raiders enter offseason waiting for news on Gruden
He went on to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl championship in 2002, beating the Raiders in the title game. Del Rio then had an awkward and emotional post game press conference with the media where he addressed his dismissal.

Rushing duo carries Bulldogs over Oklahoma in epic Rose Bowl finish
OR scored 41 points in the secondhalf of the 2014 season's Rose Bowl semifinal against Florida State. Sooners coach Lincoln Riley decided not to go for it, and Austin Seibert made his 33-yard kick.
What makes this different from the Tennessee or Tampa Bay Buccaneers rumors?
"I've met with several people - I won't deny that", Gruden said. I'm not in here every day at 4:30 or 4:00 in the morning watching pinball. He has plenty of talent at his disposal. Now that's how you play the market. Defensively, players like Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin allow for potency and playmaking.
MIKE DITKA: Iron Mike Ditka had one of the most successful coaching tenures ever in Chicago, winning 106 regular-season games for the most in franchise history besides George Halas. He now serves as the Los Angeles Rams' quarterbacks coach and is helping to guide his second-year pupil, Jared Goff, into the postseason. However, analysis and live-game action are two different things.
So this is really his last game in the booth, huh?
It will be interesting to see if he can adapt or not.
On Friday, Kerr, a fellow Oakland coach, was a guest on "The Damon Bruce Show" on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco.
