Temporary outage at Customs leads to longer lines
It's a rough night for global travelers at Miami worldwide Airport.
According to CNN, the temporary outage lasted two hours and affected global travelers passing through several major airports, including New York's John F. Kennedy worldwide.
Immigration desk computers at various airports went down for about two hours on Monday, causing long lines for travelers entering the United States after year-end holidays, according to Customs and Border Protection and posts on social media. That power outage was caused by a fire that broke out beneath the airport, officials said.
"Just landed back in the U.S. and I'm stuck in the customs line because the border patrol servers are down nationwide", wrote Pearse Adams.
The outage hit airports at around 5 pm and lasted through 9 pm. All airports are now back online.

"During the technology disruption, CBP had access to national security-related databases and all travelers were screened according to security standards", the agency said in a statement.
The disruption was not thought to be "malicious in nature", CBP said.
Footage has been posted of passengers clogged up in queues as they wait for word on when the computers will be back up and running.
