Wenger opens up over Sanchez future after Palace display

Arsenal FC news Arsene Wenger says'nobody knows what will happen over Alexis Sanchez

The Arsenal midfielder politely answered everything asked of him in his post-match interview after Arsenal's dramatic 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on Thursday night but he has clearly grown exhausted of answering the same old questions every time he shows glimpses of what he's capable of.

The England midfielder provided a superb assist for Alexis Sanchez's second goal in the 66th minute and was widely praised for his performance.

Palace, beaten for the first time in nine games, are 16th on 18 points, just a point above the relegation zone.

Crystal Palace did get a goal back in the final minute of normal time to make the game have an interesting finish, with James Tomkins heading home past Petr Cech.

The Gunners came back from 2-0 down against Liverpool last week to salvage a point with a 3-3 draw.

That defeat inspired the Gunners' successful run which ended with an FA Cup triumph and Wenger will now be hoping this victory could start another impressive sequence at the start of 2018 as they chase Champions League football for next season.

62' - GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal (Sanchez) Palace don't clear properly and Chambers lifts the ball towards the back post when the giant Sanchez wins a towering header, nodding down to Lacazette who does really well to hold up and tee him back up for an early spank which rushes past Speroni at his near post before he's noticed anything untoward.

Crystal Palace's Andros Townsend (centre) celebrates scoring their first goal with Jeffrey Schlupp and Wilfried Zaha (left).

"We gained composure. We have come here and it is a hard game for everyone in the league".

"You want to win the game no matter how you suffer in the end". For us, it is a question of keeping fighting.

Ozil's goal against Liverpool displayed his unerring ability to ghost from nearly a statuesque start into a one on one position, a trait which can very easily throw off a man marker; the Eagles' number four needs to concentrate from the first whistle to the last.
