Sophie Turner Is on Fire (No, Literally) in the First Look at X-Men: Dark Phoenix
The first photos of the upcoming sequel X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX has been revealed.
"Pride is starting to get the better of him, and he is pushing the X-Men to more extreme missions".
When it was announced that Oscar-nominated actress would play a villain in the flick, many assumed it would be Shi'ar Empress Lilandra Neramani because that character factors heavily into the Dark Phoenix comic storyline. Entertainment Weekly just unveiled our first look at Sophie Turner as the title character, along with a few new details about the film.
The film is set in 1992, 10 years after the events of Apocalypse. This gives me great hope for the film, if these incredibly busy A-list actors wanted to come back for this film, I think it has a very promising script. That was when Turner first tangled with her role-a teenage Jean Grey with backcombed hair and shoulder pads. There's also a new close-up of Mystique's makeover, which can be found in the gallery below.
Facebook debuts new Messenger app for kids 6 and up Then, children can text chat or video message the contacts, using child-friendly emoji, gifs and Snapchat-like filters and masks. The reasoning behind this, says Facebook, is to avoid forcing parents and other relatives to download an extra app.
Without giving too much away, or losing any casual moviegoers, here's a brief synopsis of that storyline: Jean Grey (Turner, Famke Janssen in the original trilogy) is returning from a mission to space when she's exposed to a solar flare. The Canadian PM made worldwide waves when he publicly supported refugees after the current US government tried to deny Syrian ones who had been granted entry into the U.S.
This wouldn't be a proper Phoenix movie if someone didn't die and X-Men: Dark Phoenix knows it. Talk about a super team-up... We don't have a trailer for the film yet, but thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we get a whole new bunch of images for the film.
Simon Kinberg is writing and directing the film, marking his directorial debut. That earliest 2006 effort also featured the Dark Phoenix to disconcerting results for fans, but Kinberg has expressed a desire to take a second crack at the material. In addition to the X-Men movies he wrote, he also has produced genre favorites like The Martian, Deadpool, and Logan.
Kinberg told us, "We really are deep inside it and in prep on it, in truth... I suddenly felt more connected to my character than I ever have been before".
