Israeli Army Strikes Targets In Gaza In Response To Rocket Fire

The IDF blasted back at Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip Thursday evening, following Palestinian rocket fire at Israel.

There was no initial claim of responsibility from any militant groups in the Gaza Strip for the launchings.

Israel has struck Gaza Thursday night with warplanes and tanks, according to the Israeli army. He was from the Al-Qarrara town in the Khan Younis district of the southern Gaza Strip.

During the Gaza war in 2014, Israel's Iron Dome rocket interceptor system largely protected the country's heartland from thousands of rocket barrages fired by terrorists.

Palestinians and Israeli troops had skirmished at the border earlier in the day.

"The spokesman also said the American administration and the occupying regime have regulated their regional policies based on "a wrong analysis of the region's developments", maintaining that the dire situation of the Middle East and the abnormal status of the Arab world would provide them with an opportunity to fulfil their long-term policies towards the Palestinian territories". The protesters also clashed with Israeli security forces firing tear gas and stun grenades, as well as rubber bullets and live ammunition.

Trump's announcement, which was warmly received by Israel, overturns decades of precedent and runs counter to worldwide consensus, with no other country now taking the same stance.

In a Wednesday address from the White House, Trump defied worldwide warnings and insisted that after repeated failures to achieve peace a new approach was long overdue, describing his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the seat of Israel's government as merely based on reality.

Palestinian leaders had previously warned the move would threaten a two-state solution.
