Global terrorist, but a free man in Pakistan: 5 things to know about Hafiz Saeed
"The LeT and the Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) are fond of me, ' he said".
Former Pakistani strongman Pervez Musharraf's declaration that he was always a fan of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, the terrorist lapdog of the Inter-Services Intelligence, is perhaps a desperate last-ditch effort by a has-been dictator to regain some credibility and power.
Pervez Musharraf said that he was "biggest supporter" of LeT. "America has asked for Hafiz Saeed's re-arrest only because of pressure from India", Waleed told Hindustan Times. "We were moving towards peace and as such I thought we should reduce "mujahids" (religious warrior) and increase political dialogue and frankly I had very less knowledge about him", said Musharraf.
"I am the biggest supporter of LeT and I know they like me and JuD also likes me", ANI quoted Musharraf telling Pakistan's ARY News.

Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said that he is the biggest fan of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and that he likes Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed. India declared this group as terrorists after partnering with the US.
He concluded by saying that India has always levelled baseless allegations against Pakistan and criticised India for using force against Kashmiris, adding that the recent attacks were being carried out at the command of Modi's government. Saeed is accused of having masterminded the November 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people.
NEWLY freed Pakistani Isla-mist Hafiz Saeed, who has a $10 million U.S. bounty on his head, spoke at last Friday's (24) prayers in a mosque in Lahore after being freed from house arrest by a court that said there was no evidence to hold him. The LeT is a biggest militant group that has declared as a terrorist group by the United States and India. The organisation that is exclusively responsible for banned Lashkar-e-Taiba is The Jammat-ud-Dawa that was responsible for carrying out the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.
The former president has earlier too sided with Saeed, who was released from house arrest on November 25 after Islamabad failed to submit any proof against him.
