Surgeon carries out first head transplant on dead bodies

"The first human transplant on human cadavers has been done", Sergio Canavero, the director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, said.
A scientific paper explaining how he did it is expected to be released in the next few days.
Professor Canavero's team had previously claimed to have successfully transplanted the heads of rats and monkeys.

But the medical community has looked at the surgery and the spectacle surrounding it with horror.
