The naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine has also been modified to deliver more power and torque thanks to a significant engine recalibration and the modification of the emission control systems. Moreover, the braking system now features full carbon-carbon racing brakes, and the Rimac-sourced energy recovery system has been re-programmed.
The AMR Pro gets smaller wheels (18-inch front and rear) to allow Michelin racing tyres to be fitted.
There's no word on how much these will set you back, but with the run-of-the-mill road vehicle costing over $3 million, we're going to bet these 25 race cars will make that number seem low. Mufflers? Too heavy. The AMR Pro's exhaust will be lighter than the Valkyrie's with "minimal silencing requirements" constraining the V12's exhaust notes.
Weight-savings have been achieved through the removal of creature comforts such as air-conditioning, the heater/demister blower and infotainment screens.
New suspension uprights and carbonfibre wishbones save more mass, and the normal seat has been swapped for an ultra-lightweight pair of moulded race seats. Aston estimates that the top speed of the Valkyrie AMR Pro is close to 250 miles per hour.
The brainchild of Adrian Newey and the product of the collaboration between Aston Martin, Red Bull Advanced Technologies and project partner AF Racing, just 25 units of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro will be built. So yeah, it's pretty quick.

"While it is endowed with extraordinary performance, it has always been vitally important to me that the Valkyrie functions well as a true road vehicle, and that naturally comes with some constraints", said Newey, who now splits his time between the F1 team and other Red Bull projects.
However, what promises to send the Valkyrie AMR Pro into really uncharted territory is the upgrade to its already extreme aero package.
"While the core elements of the road and track versions are shared, every aspect of the AMR Pro - aerodynamics, chassis, powertrain and weight - has been optimised to significantly extend the performance envelope", Newey said in a statement. It sounds like it'll be the wildest track-day vehicle out there.
Andy Palmer, Aston Martin CEO, added: "Valkyrie has always been about pushing the limits and redefining the possible".
Changes to the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro's exterior include revised aerodynamic surfaces for significantly increased downforce and the addition of much larger front and rear wing elements, together with revised active aerodynamic control strategies tailored for the demands of track driving.
Aston Martin does confirm some of the performance gains out on the tarmac though. Deliveries are expected in 2020.
