Car crashes into students in France

A French prosecutor said a vehicle that rammed into a group of students in a city in southwest France on Friday was driven by a man known to have "psychiatric" problems.

One police source told the French news agency the driver "deliberately" tried to ram the students with his vehicle, one of whom is in serious condition.

The three injured, one male and two female, are all at their early 20s, said the consulate.

The 28-year-old driver, who was arrested immediately afterwards in the city's Blagnac suburb, acted "deliberately" but was not on a list of known extremists, one source said, asking not to be named.
