One of the biggest roster moves in the National Football League was made on Wednesday when the Minnesota Vikings activated quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and sent Sam Bradford to injured reserve.

That will give the Vikings more information before they need to make the expected roster move by Wednesday to restore Bridgewater to the roster.

Week 5 against the Chicago Bears is the last time quarterback Sam Bradford played in a game for the Minnesota Vikings.

"It's disappointing", Zimmer said of Bradford going on IR. He spent a whole bunch of his own money trying everything to get back and it just didn't work out. "Hopefully we'll be able to get him back when he gets healthy".

Meanwhile, coach Mike Zimmer announced Case Keenum will make his seventh start of the season for the game at Washington on Sunday.

It's highly unlikely the Vikings will waive quarterback Kyle Sloter, a source said Monday, to create the roster spot for Bridgewater.

Bridgewater, who turns 25 on Friday, has been leading the scout team offense since returning to practice three weeks ago.

However, an injury to Bradford's knee put him on the shelf for about a month.

Griffen stretched with the team at the start of practice Wednesday, wearing a stocking cap rather than a helmet. His entire 2016 - and possible career at the time - was lost after he suffered a torn ACL, dislocated knee joint and other structural damage.

Bradford becomes a free agent after the season. During his last full season, which came in 2015, Bridgewater completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns against nine interceptions.
