Bucs' QB Winston Out At Least 2 Weeks With Shoulder Injury

Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter announced Monday that team doctors chose to sideline the quarterback for at least two weeks based on MRI results.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing it safe by shutting down franchise quarterback Jameis Winston "for a couple weeks" to rest his injured throwing shoulder, coach Dirk Koetter said Monday.

Winston initially sustained an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in a 38-33 loss at the Arizona Cardinals on October 15.

This will be the first time in 40 career National Football League games that Winston will miss a start.

Winston has played through the injury, originally diagnosed as an AC joint sprain, the past three games.

Winston has struggled for the 2-6 Bucs this year, passing for 1,920 yards with 10 touchdowns, six interceptions, and five fumbles.

Before this week, Winston had only thrown one day a week because of the injury.

The Bucs got stomped by the Saints in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon, trailing 30-3 in the third quarter, but after quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick took a shot, a fight broke out on the sidelines.

Winston completed 7-of-13 passes for 63 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.
