iPhone X breakability and durability tests stress the need for a protective case

iPhone X Is the 'Most Breakable Ever' According to Test

With the launch of the new Apple iPhone X three days ago, people have lined up as usual to get their hands on one, including all of the groups who can't wait to simply throw it at the ground, hit it with a hammer or let Fido get his chops on it.

"You'd expect there to be a high price to pay for a attractive phone like the iPhone X. Unfortunately for consumers, in the end it's likely to be more than the $1,000 they've already invested." said Jason Siciliano, vice president global creative director at SquareTrade.

That's why Apple published a helpful video on Friday going over some of the basics on how to use the iPhone X. Apple also includes some pointers in its Tips app. According to SquareTrade, which sells smartphone protection plans, iPhone X is Apple's most breakable iPhone to date.

So just how durable is the glass on the iPhone X?

Meanwhile, SquareTrade, a company that provides extended warranties for electronic devices, has crowned the new Apple handset the "most breakable yet", after putting it through a series of tests created to measure its durability. In the second drop, the phone fell directly on its front face.

John Wall still recovering from sprained left shoulder, out vs. Raptors
Throughout his career, James is now holding at 27.1 points per game career average, which is fourth all-time in league history. His struggles date back to the beginning of the season and have continued to be a concern for the fans and the organization.

And here's the quoted test results that SquareTrade sent.

Face Down Drop Test: On its first drop, SquareTrade saw the iPhone X shatter, its screen become unresponsive and its widely touted facial recognition feature fail completely.

In the document, Apple is admitting that the the iPhone X display is not immune to color shift or screen burn-in, two issues the Google Pixel 2 XL is being roasted for.

Dunk Test: The iPhone X faired similar to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models, surviving 30 minutes under five feet of water with some audio muffling during playback. Compare that with the iPhone 8's rating of 67 earlier this year, and it seems that Apple's mandate to innovate each device comes at the cost of structural integrity. Guess you know how long your iPhone X will last if your significant other ever decides to throw your phone in an oven or something. Jerry's unable to bend the iPhone X, which means it's safe for skinny jeans. Do you buy accidental damage insurance on your smartphones?
