Game Of Thrones actor Roy Doltrice dies aged 94 'surrounded by family'

Dotrice is remembered for his role in the CBS TV series "Beauty and the Beast" and won a BAFTA best TV actor award in 1969 for his role in "Misleading Cases".

Roy Dotrice, who played Leopold Mozart in Best Picture Oscar victor Amadeus and won a Tony Award for Best Actor in A Moon for the Misbegotten, died today in London.

In addition to his role on the #GameOfThrones television series, Dotrice is also known as the narrator of George R.R. Martin's book series on which the #TV show is based.

Dotrice died at his London home surrounded by family including his three daughters Karen, Michele and Yvette, grandchildren and great-godson, the family said in a statement to Independent.

Dotrice returned to Broadway to star in A Life (1980) and Kingdoms (1981) and appeared in numerous U.S. TV drama series including Magnum, P.I., Remington Steele and Hart to Hart before landing his signature role in Amadeus, playing the father and teacher of Tom Hulce's Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Interestingly, Dotrice was initially cast as Grand Maester Pycelle before Game Of Thrones had even begun.

Dotrice's wife Kay passed away in 2007 after the couple had been married for 60 years.
