Facebook's Zuckerberg talks promise of VR at Oculus conference
Zuckerberg, though, remains convinced that VR will evolve into a technology that reshapes the way people interact and experience life, much as Facebook's social networks and smartphones already have. You also don't need a phone, like you do with the Samsung Gear VR. You don't need to plug the headset into a computer like the Rift, nor do you have to dock a phone like the Gear VR.
At this price, Oculus Go occupies a still fledgling space: affordable VR.
The Oculus Go is expected to revive interest in building low-priced premium VR headsets. It's also less expensive than the Windows Mixed Reality headsets, which only showed their faces relatively recently, and much less than HTC Vive. They can target both Gear VR and Oculus Go at the same time, and Facebook confirms Oculus Go will be binary-compatible with Gear VR content. It may not be so easy.
In true Facebook fashion, Zuckerberg said that he wants to get "1 billion people in virtual reality". Oculus Touch controllers with support for natural gestures and finger movement create a sense of true hand presence for more realistic, memorable, and tactile VR.
Barra announced that the company had developed custom lenses for the headset, which allow for a wide field of view.
Samsung Galaxy J2 2017 Edition gets launched in India Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor which is coupled with 1GB of RAM . Additionally, the smartphone comes with features like Smart Manager for automatic memory clean up and management.
The tech world will be watching to see if the Oculus Go can become the next smash hit like the iPhone ... or if VR is a flash in the pan like 3D TVs.
But, without having tried Go as it isn't on display at Connect, the new headset does have the feeling of a stopgap measure, and a late one at that. Those figures include headsets for what is known as augmented reality. The company will be shipping first headsets to developers in November, and then sell it to consumers early next year. Facebook is still trying to bring virtual reality into the mainstream, and hopes the new headset will help. You just put on the headset and start playing around in VR.
