Ophelia Becomes 10th Atlantic Hurricane of 2017, No Land Threat

Wednesday's Weather Word: Ophelia
Ophelia, which is not a threat to the USA, could affect the Azores, Portugal and Ireland. The core of Ophelia is located about 760 miles southwest of the Azores and the storm is moving east at 3 mph.
Ophelia is racing across the Atlantic at 6mph and is forecast to reach hurricane strength tomorrow. That ties the record for most consecutive hurricane-strength storms in the Atlantic Basin.
If Ophelia becomes a hurricane it will be the ninth so far this year in the Atlantic.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Ophelia now has top sustained winds of 70 miles per hour (110 kph). It is possible that this has happened since 1893, but we didn't have the technology to see it.
On August 9th, the National Hurricane Center updated their 2017 outlook and predicted it was going to be an above average season.
While Ophelia may lose the technical aspects that make it a hurricane, it could still pack a punch. Hurricane Season does not officially end until November 30th.
Forecasters say Ophelia is expected to become a hurricane by Thursday.
The current forecast has Ophelia becoming subtropical before it reaches the Iberian Peninsula. The storm may still be capable of producing powerful winds, on the order of 60 to 80 miles per hour, when it makes its closest approach to Ireland and the United Kingdom, which it's forecast to do on Monday.
This could bring a blast of high winds to the Emerald Isle, particularly the western half of Ireland early next week.
Florida's Duke Dawson hits LSU WR in the face
An already intense rivalry became even more so, when the two schools squabbled publicly over when and where to play the 2016 game. LSU opened the second half with a nine-play, 75-yard scoring drive, capped by Etling's touchdown pass to Carter.
All Blacks expected to complete clean sweep
Ioane's try came when he latched on to a wayward Springboks pass with the Boks on the attack and went 80 meters to score. The teams traded early penalties before Ryan Crotty scored the first try to give New Zealand an 8-3 lead at the break.
Colin Kaepernick's Reps Reached Out To The Titans
However, he struggled the last two weeks with quarterback ratings of 70.3 against the Jets and 71.1 against the Saints. Whereas someone like Marcus Mariota moves to throw, Reese said , Kaepernick is most comfortable "moving to run".
