Proof of Santa being real has been revealed

A tomb believed to hold the remains of the saint who became the basis for the popular Christmas character Santa Claus may have been discovered in an ancient church in Turkey.

Researchers in the southern province of Antalya found the grave site beneath St Nicholas church in the region's Demre district - an area formerly known as Myra and thought to be the saint's birthplace.

Saint Nicholas' remains were previously believed to have been smuggled to Bari, Italy by merchants in 1087, and a church built to house them.

Researchers now believe at the time of his death in 343 A.D., Saint Nicholas was interred at the church in Demre, where he lay undisturbed until the 11th century. There's a chance that Italian smugglers could have thieved his bones, but according to Turkish archaeologists, they may have stolen the wrong ones.

Instagram Stories gets updated with sticker polls
Along the bottom of the screen, to the left of the spectrum of colors you're used to seeing, you'll see a new eyedropper icon. The temporal nature of Instagram Stories (they're only viewable for 24 hours) makes pairing them with polls a smart idea.

Experts say they have likely identified Saint Nicholas' tomb beneath the ancient St. Nicholas Church in Demre. We claim that St. Nicholas has been kept in this temple without any damage.

That would be of interest to all the Christians who think they have visited Nicholas' resting place in Bari, Italy. "But it is said that these bones did not belong to St. Nicholas but to another priest", Karabayram said. On one occasion, according to lore, he climbed down a chimney to leave a gift.

As noted by the Daily Sabah, the reasoning behind Saint Nicholas being Santa Claus is due to his generosity towards children. Depicted as a portly, joyous, white-bearded man-sometimes with spectacles-wearing a red coat with white fur collar and cuffs, white-fur-cuffed red pants, and black leather belt and boots, Santa Claus is said to bring gifts for the kids who have been well-behaved and disciplined throughout the year.

She said: "We have obtained very good results but the real work starts now". By the 16th century, he was popularized as "Father Christmas", delivering presents to young children in honor of the Christian holiday in December.
