Intrusion By Pak's Border Action Team Stopped In Jammu And Kashmir

An attack on army post by armed intruders suspected to be from Pakistan army's Border Action Team (BAT) has been reportedly repelled in Kupwara district of north Kashmir near Line of Control.

The security forces have also recovered a weapon, report said.

AFTER the BSF launched Operation Arjun following intermittent firing and ceasefire violations from across the border in Jammu region, Pakistani forces spoke to the Indian side and sought peace along the border, BSF Director General K K Sharma said here on Wednesday.

Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat this week claimed India had carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and that India has options available to conduct such a strike again. "It is nothing but an attempt to push in as many terrorists as possible befor the winter sets in", said an official.
