The Sony Xperia XZ1 is priced at Rs 44,990 ($690), which means it will take on the likes of popular flagships including Apple's iPhone 7 and OnePlus 5 which fall under Rs 50,000 bracket (some variants).

Sony has launched the Xperia XZ1 in India for a price in India for Rs 44,990.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is featured with a 5.2 inches Full HD HDR TRILUMINOS Display with X-Reality Bravia engine and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile processor with Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone adheres a 64GB ROM which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. For power, it will be packed with a 2700mAh battery, which supports 3.0 quick charge technology.

The U11 flaunts a 12-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.7 with HTC's UltraPixel technology, 5-axis OIS, EIS, and 4K video recording support. The device also comes with IPS 68 rating which implies that the device is dust and water resistant.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 impresses in bits and pieces but leaves much to be desired. This is the first phone in the market to be introduced in the market running on Android 8.0 Oreo. The 3D Creator can scan objects and people in 3D in just a minute using four scan modes; head scan, face scan, food scan and freeform scan.

Scans can be uploaded to social media, used to create 3D stickers for messenger apps or be printed into a memorable keepsake.
