EXPRESS NEWSPAPERSApple Watch Series 3 has been unveiled

Apple Watch series 3

The new smartwatch comes with several improvements and features. Apple's Cook said the company's Watch sales grew 50% year-over-year.

The new version, called Apple Watch Series 3, will use an existing iPhone phone number when making calls, Apple said. How is Apple getting that 97 percent customer satisfaction out of their watch users?

The Apple Watch 3 will be able to tap into the cellular network, which means you don't have to lug your iPhone along when you go on a run.

The new Watch costs $399 with cellular capability, or $329 without.

Apple shares rose 1.1% to $163.30 after the company discussed the Watch. It's an important feature, and turns the watch into a veritable iPhone Light, allowing you to leave the phone behind while going out for a quick workout or running an unexpected errand.

The new watch will also include a faster dual core processor and a barometric altimeter, which measures the altitude of an object above a fixed level. "Our little watch is already packed", but for cellular, you have to add antennas, radios, and a SIM card, among other things. In terms of design, the new watch is the same physical size as the Series 2. The processor also now lets Siri talk and packs a W2 wireless chip and an all-day battery life although Apple didn't specify exactly how long it will last on a single charge with LTE connectivity.

Delta flight races Hurricane Irma to Puerto Rico and back -- and wins
Virgin Islands say three people have died after Irma caused what they described as "catastrophic" damage. From landing in the midst of the fierce "Irma" to flying out just in time everything was nail-biting.

It's once again the time of year where Apple reveals the latest products it has been working on.

While Apple Watch has dominated the smartwatch market, with Apple Watch driving almost 70 percent of its growth, there's still a question of just how much mainstream appeal these products have.

The LTE Watch starts at $399 and will be available September 22.

The wearables market has seen some ups and downs over the years and it is predicted by Gartner that 2017 looks positive with Apple leading the way.

Apple unveiled an updated version of its smartwatch Monday, as it claimed the device had become the top-selling watch in the world ahead of rivals such as Rolex and Fossil.
