Instagram Testing New Feature That Allows Users To Share Stories To Facebook
08 September 2017, 12:50 | Jenny Fowler
Stories which copies a popular Snapchat feature has helped increase the amount of time people spend on the app
In fact, taking a quick look, it appears only six of my friends have ever tried it out and now it's just a series of rather sad looking greyed out profile photo circles. Screenshots show the ability to post the same photo or video from an Instagram Story to the main Facebook app. The Story feature might be popular on Instagram, but the same can't be said on Facebook.
It's not clear how big the current test is or what Instagram's future plans are for the feature.
"Not only have Americans grown somewhat in their use of social media for news overall, but now they are more likely than ever to get news from multiple social media sites", Pew analysts Elisa Shearer and Jeffrey Gottfried write in the report, noting, "About one quarter of all USA adults (26%) get news from two or more of these sites, up from 18% in 2016 and 15% in 2013".
Red Sox used Apple watches to steal Yankees pitching signals The most recent accusations of sign stealing were lodged against the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011, the New York Times reported . The MLB investigation found that the team had a person outside of the stadium watching a camera of the catcher.
The Stories feature, which is a copy of the Snapchat feature, was added to Instagram in August 2016. However, it's also possible that Facebook is starting to realize users actually do want Stories - just not in every app.
In a statement made by an Instagram spokesperson, "We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you". Perhaps when the company integrated the feature into Instagram then later ported it to Facebook, Messenger, and even WhatsApp, its hope was for everyone to start using it regardless from which app. Both Apps have traditionally kept separate from the beginning.
Instagram Stories might soon make its way to Facebook. In a report company revealed that 250 million people use Instagram Stories daily.
