The FBI raided Trump campaign manager's home last month

Trump Campaign Handed Over Thousands Of Documents To Senate Judiciary Committee Last Week

The Washington Post reported that files and other records, relating to his time working for the Trump campaign, were seized. The Washington Post, which first reported the raid, said it occurred the morning of July 26 at Manafort's home in Alexandria, Va.

Spokesman Jason Maloni said that Manafort cooperated with the agents. Attorney General Jeff Sessions had recused himself from any investigations into the Trump campaign activities, on grounds that he was part of the campaign himself. It was the day after me met with the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Duke Law School professor Samuel Buell, a former federal prosecutor, said a search warrant would only be needed if Mueller doubted Manafort would comply with document requests or a subpoena.

"FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr Manafort's residences", Manafort spokesman, Jalon Malobi, said it a statement. The committee said it received the Manafort and Trump campaign documents on August 2 and the records from Trump Jr. on August 4.

The president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., sent the committee another 250 pages two days later, Mr. Hartmann told Bloomberg.

CNN has learned that investigators became more suspicious when they turned up intercepted communications that US intelligence agencies collected among suspected Russian operatives discussing their efforts to work with Manafort, who served as campaign chairman for three months, to coordinate information that could damage Hillary Clinton's election prospects, the USA officials say.

There's no indication that President Trump knew of the raid, but hours after it happened, he tweeted that Attorney General Jeff Sessions should have replaced the acting Federal Bureau of Investigation director.

Manafort has also turned over other documents to the Senate intelligence committee as well as about 400 pages of records to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Manafort had voluntarily spoke with the Senate members and produced documents to the congressional committees prior to the explosive raid.

Trump has also strongly rejected accusations that his campaign colluded with Moscow in the run-up to the election and has called Mueller's investigation a "witch hunt".
