President Donald Trump's approval rating has hit an all-time low, a new Quinnipiac University poll found.

A majority of Americans, including those who live in military households, believe that transgender people should be allowed to serve in the armed forces, according to a new poll out Thursday. "Voters say, 'Let them serve'".

Trump's approval rate fell from 40 percent points from the previous Quinnipiac poll published on June 29, while his disapproval rose 17 points, with undecided voters from January turning on him.

However, the pollster said large percentages of those who were surveyed said they do not think Trump is honest, that he does not have "good leadership skills", that he "does not care about average Americans", and that he "does not share their values". The same poll now reports his approval at 38 percent, a record low for Rasmussen.

A new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports/Pulse Opinion Research indicates that more than six in ten Americans disapprove of Trump's presidency. In this poll, their net approval of Trump is at 62 points.

ADVERTISEMENTThe president, in previous months, has touted the Rasmussen poll on Twitter, calling it "one of the most accurate in the 2016 Election" while bragging about his approval rating at the time.

The startling polling results come after two of the more hectic weeks at the White House since Trump was inaugurated. A little over a week ago, President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that the US military would no longer let transgender people serve in the military, reversing the policy established by former President Barrack Obama.

This goes with a separate poll by Reuters and Ipsos from last week, which found that 58 percent of United States adults agree trans people should be allowed to serve in the military, while 27 percent disagreed.
